If you're newly engaged, you're probably feeling super excited, first of all. But I'm sure you're also feeling extremely overwhelmed at all of the details that go into planning your day. I'm sure you're making Pinterest boards and gathering up more bridal magazines than one person should ever own. You're excited and nervous and wondering where to start, and how to balance enjoying this season of engagement, planning your wedding while working, and managing different family dynamics. Believe me, I've been there! The six months that I was engaged were some of the most fun but stressful months of my life. I learned a lot along that journey, and have learned even more since then about what it looks like to plan weddings from start to finish! I can hands-down tell you that hiring a wedding planner will be the best decision you make during your planning process. And at Back Meadow Events, we are here to help you make all of your Pinterest and Instagram dreams come true, no matter what your budget is!
Hey y'all, I'm Abby and I'm a Texan living in Oklahoma. For as long as I can remember, I've loved to plan parties. So when my husband decided to go to law school, I thought it would be the perfect time for me to fulfill my dreams and start a boutique event planning firm.I grew up on a plot of land in a tiny town in Texas. I remember spending long summer days with my siblings in the creek, having a picnic, or riding horses in what we lovingly referred to as our "back meadow." To me, the back meadow represents everything I want my company to be -- welcoming, bright, whimsical, and inspiring.
I've always had a natural affinity towards planning for the future, what some would even call "type A." I swooned over Jennifer Lopez's role in The Wedding Planner and collected as many wedding magazines as I could throughout high school. After college I planned large conferences and corporate events for a nonprofit and learned so much. But after designing and planning my own wedding in 2015 from start to finish and helping countless friends with theirs, I knew I'd found my calling!
